Founding History

Yolanda Holton knows caring for an aging loved one is intensely personal. Her own experience caring for her grandmother Ella Rose taught Yolanda that even the most willing and prepared family members will find it challenging to care for their loved ones at home. Drawing on the virtues of kindness, love, and compassion, she set out on a mission to create an organization that supports elderly and disabled individuals and their families at home through care and counseling programs. Circle of Care, St. Louis is the culmination of Yolanda’s mission to create a network of support and care for the elderly and disabled population in St. Louis and Southeastern Missouri.

Using her education in Nonprofit Management, her experience as a nonprofit professional, and a Certified Mental Health First Aide, Yolanda implemented multiple programs at Circle of Care, St. Louis designed to help clients and their families address critical issues that impact care and overall wellbeing. This includes helping clients take control of their own care, offering mental health counseling, giving family caregivers counseling support, offering in-home care from experienced professionals, and helping the elderly get away from abuse through an emergency shelter program.

Yolanda holds Master of Arts degrees in Grant Writing, Evaluation and Management, and Nonprofit Administration. Her education, experience caring for a family member, and leading individuals and organizations professionally inspire her to continue improving care and support for the elderly and disabled. Yolanda is happily married and the mother of two adult sons.
